Taiko Audio Driver for Linux

Taiko Audio is an high-end audio company dedicated to creating bespoke audio components that deliver a luxury listening experience for audiophiles. To achieve this, Taiko partnered with Mindhash to port an existing Windows audio device driver to Linux.

This software enables a computer to send audio to the Taiko Audio XDMI (a high-quality custom PCIe DAC device). For optimal & seamless playback on Linux systems, lots of changes to the firmware of the XDMI Audio Interface were required. Developing such a driver is technically complex. Issues in timing and buffering will result in a degraded listening experience. We’ve ensured that the playback experience using the Linux ALSA driver is just as seamless as with the Windows ASIO driver by fully supporting Taiko’s wide range of interchangeable daughterboards and their corresponding audio formats, sample rates, and bit depths.
